Yes, I'm creepy.  No, I wouldn't have taken it if there were people inside.

Eating in Chicago

I had so much fun eating in Chicago, even if it was a quick trip and there we didn't even scratch the surface of what Chicago has to offer.

Of of my favorite stops was actually one in which I didn't eat anything, but it brought up a lot of happy memories of my trip to Italy the summer before: EATaly. It is an Italian market broken up into departments.  Each department also has its own restaurant - from seafood to wine to gelato, desserts, meats, produce and bakery.  It took all of my self control not to buy food there.  It was quite pricey, and the cheeses and salami's were particularly hard to resist, though overwhelming in their variety and intimidating in selection; it also would have been a challenge keeping them fresh and cold enough in my travels.  But it was a marvel to see.  I would like to go back, but next time with a purposeful intention to buy and a list to stick to.

Dumpling soup with pork and Chinese broccoli .  The broth was to die for.

Deep dish dinner at Pizano's, naturally!
Breakfast part 1: donuts at Stan's (pistachio lemon; also tried orange glazed and chocolate covered orange)

                                                  (look at that homemade marshmallow!)
Chicago dogs

I tried all of Chicago's iconic foods (including Garrett's delicious cheese and caramel pecan popcorn flavors, which isn't pictured).  I can't wait to go back and have a schedule revolving only around mealtimes again!  I am so glad Libby was a firm believer in trying new, exciting places and using food apps on her phone to get us there!
