Picture it: It's May 20th. The sun is bright. The day is unseasonably warm. You would normally spend the afternoon lounging in a camp chair reading a good book in your quiet one-horse town. But not today. Today is different. Special. Today, your sleepy town is, for all anyone else knows, the center of the universe. Why? Because today is a solar eclipse, and you just happen to be in the "sweet spot" - the best place in the whole world to see the perfect ring of that solar eclipse. Kanarraville, UT, usually home to about 500 people, is suddenly host to an estimated additional 14,000 people from all over the country, as well as a Japanese news crew. My friend Libby invited me to a cookout at her brother's house there, and I enjoyed not only watching the eclipse, but the people as well.

Um, that's pretty awesome. Did you take all those pictures of the actual eclipse? Did you have to do anything special to take them? I suppose a camera is not like the human eye and wouldn't spontaneously combust when looking directly at the sun...Anyway, we were totally overcast that day, so I didn't even get to see it. So cool that you got to go to the hot spot!
